MGC Civil was engaged to deliver a full civil works package for Peppermint Park, a 47 lot sub-division comprising 28 Survey Strata Lots and 19 Green Title lots.
MGC Civil undertook site clearance, which involved clearing the entirety of the site, bulk earthworks with 55,000 tonnes of clean sand imported, placed and compacted. Sewer and water reticulation, stormwater drainage incorporating Atlantis Cells, common trench electrical, gas and communications. Full construction of all asphalt, concrete kerbing, footpaths and retaining walls.
A major challenge for the MGC Civil team was the depth of services to be installed. Portions of the sewer and stormwater infrastructure were 5m below the surface and up to 2m below groundwater level. A large dewatering system including retention and filtration ponds was installed to mitigate this.
A second major challenge was the presence of unsuitable material onsite. MGC Civil engaged an alternative method of compaction turning to modern technologies and utilising a 16 tonne Penta deep compaction roller.
