MGC CIVIL WAS ENGAGED BY HANDLE PROPERTY GROUP TO DELIVER THE FORWARD EARTHWORKS AND CIVIL WORKS PACKAGE AT THE PEREGRINE ESTATE, PIARA WATERS.
Construction included 200,000m² site clearance, bulk earthworks, import, place and compact of 245,000m³, sewer and water reticulation, stormwater drainage, common trench electrical, gas and communication services. Full construction of limestone retaining walls. Full construction of asphalt roads including concrete kerbing, footpaths, signage and line marking.
A major challenge for the MGC Civil Team was the depth of services to be installed due to the high groundwater level. The sewer and stormwater infrastructure were up to 4m below the surface and up to 3m below the groundwater level. A large dewatering system, including retention and filtration ponds, was installed to mitigate this.
The highlight for the MGC Civil Team was being awarded all 4 projects simultaneously, and due to the size and scale of the bulk earthworks, MGC Civil was able to start the civil works earlier, allowing for an earlier completion of the entire project.
