MGC Civil was engaged to deliver a multiple stage civil works package at the Golden Vines Estate, Dayton. The first two stages of Golden Vines comprised of 100 green title lots which were constructed concurrently with the Grevillea Estate for Handle Property Group comprising of a further 52 Green Title lots and 10 Survey Strata Lots.
MGC Civil undertook site clearance, which involved clearing the entirety of the site including the demolition of several houses and outbuildings, bulk earthworks with 30,000m3 imported fill for the first two stages. Sewer and water reticulation, stormwater drainage, common trench electrical, gas and communications. Full construction of all asphalt, concrete kerbing and footpaths and retaining walls.
A key challenge for the MGC Civil team was the installation of 330m of sewer along Arthur Street at a depth of between 5.5m and 6.0m. Not only did the depth of the sewer present a challenge as it was within an existing road reserve, but this was coupled with a high water table at 2m below ground level and Coffee Rock at 2.5m. To meet this challenge the MGC Civil team installed the sewer by slurry drill micro tunnelling.
